Kingsland Police Department Receives Excellence in Policing Certification
(Kingsland, GA - September 2025) The Kingsland Police Department has been recognized for its commitment to professional standards and community trust with the Excellence in Policing Certification. David Trotter with Local Government Risk Management Services (LGRMS) presented the certificate to Police Chief Evans and Assistant Chief Seaward in recognition of the department’s achievement.
The Excellence in Policing Certification is a statewide program in Georgia designed to help municipal law enforcement agencies meet high professional standards in critical areas such as policy development, accountability, officer training, and public trust.
Developed through a cooperative effort between the Georgia Municipal Association, the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, and Local Government Risk Management Services (LGRMS), the program provides a framework for agencies to adopt best practices, reduce liability, and strengthen relationships with the communities they serve.
“The Kingsland Police Department’s certification demonstrates a continued commitment to excellence,” stated Mayor Day. “By voluntarily pursuing and achieving these standards, the department has shown its dedication to both professional growth and increased public confidence.”
This certification not only highlights the department’s ongoing efforts to improve operations but also serves as a stepping stone toward more advanced certifications, further reinforcing the City of Kingsland’s commitment to effective and accountable public safety.
