City of Kingsland Highlights SPLOST-Funded Drainage Improvements

The City of Kingsland is pleased to announce the completion of a major infrastructure improvement project funded by the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program. This project replaced aging metal drainage pipes with new reinforced concrete box culverts, significantly improving stormwater flow and reducing the risk of flooding in nearby neighborhoods.

The upgrade represents a critical investment in Kingsland’s long-term infrastructure, providing:

  • Improved drainage and flood control
  • Stronger, more durable stormwater systems
  • Safer streets and neighborhoods for residents

“SPLOST funding allows us to make meaningful improvements that protect our neighborhoods and strengthen our infrastructure,” stated Mayor Day. “This project is another great example of how small pennies collected through SPLOST are being turned into big progress for our community.”

The City of Kingsland remains committed to using SPLOST dollars responsibly to fund essential public projects that enhance safety, efficiency, and quality of life for all residents.
