1. What is required to start residential water/sewer/garbage service?

A government issued ID and $100.00 refundable deposit. Water Application Form

2. How do I shut my water off if I have a broken line in my home or residence ?

All residences are required to have a personal shut off on their property. If not, contact your local plumber to facilitate installing one. Should emergency assistance be necessary, residents may contact The City of Kingsland on-call service at (912) 729-8236.

3. What forms of payment are accepted/available?

We accept Cash, check, money order, Visa/Master Cards, automatic reoccurring checking draft, and automatic reoccurring credit card draft. Our online payments service provider accepts all credit cards.

4. When is my deposit refunded back to me?

Water/sewer deposits will be refunded to the customer’s account after 24 months of consecutive timely payments are made. To qualify accounts cannot have any late fees, disconnect fees, penalties, or returned check fees in the 24 months preceding the issuance of the refund. Deposits not refunded while the account is active will be applied toward customer’s final bill or refunded provided the wheeled garbage container is returned to the City in a serviceable condition and account paid in full. After account is settled, a check will be mailed to the forwarding address for any remaining amount within two to four weeks of the final bill.

5. When are water/sewer/garbage bills due?

Normally utility bills are due on the 20th of each month.

NOTICE: Water/sewer accounts will be subject to disconnection of service 15 days after the current bill due date if balance is not paid by the current due date. If there is a previous balance due, your account may be subject to disconnection without further notice any time after the 5th of the current month. An administrative fee of $25.00 will be applied to each utility account on the cut-off list.

6. Is there a charge to have my water service manipulated after normal working hours?

Yes, there will be a $25 charge to have your water turned on or shut off after the normal working hours. This fee can be avoided if a shut off valve is installed between the city water meter and the home, please refer to the City Ordinance.
