1. What exemptions are available for property taxes?

Senior Exemption (65 or older, residing in residence), Disabled Veteran (must be 100% disabled, living in residence, apply with County), and Un-remarried Surviving Spouse Exemption (must apply with the County and live in residence). Note: all exemptions require taxpayer to live in residence as of January 1st for tax year of exemption.

2. How do I apply for tax exemptions?

1. For Senior Exemption ($25,000), apply with the City one time by August 1st , bring proof of age and residency. Homeowner must be 65 years of age on January 1 of the year for which exemption applies. 

2. For Disabled Veterans ($100,896), apply with the County; bring ID and proof of 100% disability and proof of residency. 

3. For Un-Remarried Surviving Spouse Exemption ($100,896) from all ad valorem taxes levied, if such person's spouse, who as a member of the armed forces of the United States, was killed or died as a result of any war armed conflict, apply with the County. Documents from the Secretary of Defense must be provided stating that spousal benefits are received as a result of the death.

For Tax Year 2024, the millage rate is 5.590 mils 

4. Can you pay your water bill or property tax bill online?

We do not accept payments online at this time for property tax bills. However, we do accept online payments for utility bills. Click on “online payment” on our home page. All major credit cards are accepted. Note there is a 3% service fee charged by a third-party company, Government Window, to cover the cost of this convenient and secure payment service. For no fee, we offer automated monthly draft from a checking account or credit card. Download form under the Municipal Services Department (Direct Debit Application) to sign up. You will still receive a paper bill to review at the beginning of each month.

5. Do you offer a Senior exemption for water bills?

No

6. Do you offer a credit for water used for pool fills and lawn watering?

Yes, once a year for pool fills on the sewer portion. No credit is offered for lawn watering.
