About Us
The Municipal Utilities Department is responsible for delivering reliable, safe, and high-quality water and wastewater services to the residents, businesses, and institutions within the City of Kingsland. Our mission is to protect public health and the environment while maintaining and improving essential utility infrastructure.
Water Services
Our department operates and maintains the City’s public water supply system, including groundwater wells, treatment facilities, and distribution lines. We are committed to providing clean, safe, and dependable drinking water that meets or exceeds all state and federal regulatory standards.
Responsibilities include:
Operation of water treatment facilities
Water quality testing and regulatory compliance
System pressure monitoring and flow management
Maintenance of water mains, valves, and fire hydrants
New service connections and meter installations
Wastewater Services
The City’s wastewater treatment system is designed to safely collect, treat, and dispose of wastewater generated by homes, businesses, and industries throughout the city. Our advanced treatment facilities ensure that all wastewater is properly treated before being released back into the environment.
Key functions:
Operation of wastewater treatment plants
Routine and emergency sewer line maintenance
Lift station management
Wastewater sampling and environmental compliance
Sewer connection permits and inspections
Infrastructure Maintenance
Maintaining our underground utility infrastructure is critical to the long-term sustainability of water and wastewater services. The Utilities Department performs ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and emergency repairs to ensure system reliability and resilience.
Infrastructure responsibilities:
Scheduled inspection and maintenance of water/sewer lines
Leak detection and repair
Line replacements and system upgrades
Coordination with construction and development projects
Utility location services (Georgia 811 coordination)
