[ARCHIVED] City of Kingsland Closing Notice

CITY OF KINGSLAND MAYOR AND COUNCIL ANNOUNCE CITY ADMIN OFFICE CLOSURE FOR FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2021

CITY OF KINGSLAND MAYOR AND COUNCIL ANNOUNCE CITY ADMIN OFFICE CLOSURE FOR FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2021 AND MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2021.

City offices will resume regular operations on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 8:00 AM.

Kingsland, GA (August, 28, 2021) - Governor Kemp recently reestablished his previous guidelines and directives as they apply to the spread of COVID-19 -19. He also encouraged state workers to seek out medical physicians as they see fit to ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and their family members. As a part of his initiative, he has given all state workers paid leave time for September 3, 2021 to allow for staff to make doctor appointments, seek out vaccine information, and to pursue any other health appointments as needed.

Following the Governor’s model, the Mayor and City Council has instituted a paid wellness day for September 3, 2021 for all staff. Employees in essential and emergency positions will have the option of scheduling a leave day at some point within the month of September. It is the Mayor’s desire that city staff act in their best interest and pursue safety measures to reduce their risk to the COVID-19 virus. Should staff already be vaccinated or previously made a decision about the preventative measures as they relate to COVID, employees may take this day as a mental wellness day to spend with friends and family as a thank you for all they have done to maintain services to citizens throughout the pandemic.

Additionally, city offices will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2021 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. City offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 8:00 AM.

The City of Kingsland will continue to support the mission of delivering quality services to the public and promoting a friendly and inviting environment for people to work and live.
