[ARCHIVED] PUBLIC NOTICE Hazard Mitigation Grant Program

The City of Kingsland has submitted an application for a generator project funded by FEMA under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.  The project will affect historic and non historic properties that are located in the floodplain.  The project will be in the following neighborhoods: Industrial Park Lift Station 168 Commercial Road Kingsland, GA 31548 30.841768, -81.683355; Colerain West Lift Station Colerain Road Kingsland, GA 31548 30.813212, -81.748676; Christian’s Landing Lift Station Christian’s Landing Kingsland, GA 31548 30.817283, -81.606294; Marsh Harbor Lift Station Marsh Harbor Kingsland, GA 31548 30.818467, -81.611484


Presidential Executive Orders 11988 and 11990 and the National Historic Preservation Act required that all federal actions in or affecting the floodplain or wetlands and historic properties be reviewed for opportunities to relocate, and evaluated for social, economic, historical, environmental, legal and safety considerations.  The public is invited to participate in the process of identifying alternatives and analyzing their impacts.  Any adverse effects to historic properties as a result of this undertaking will be mitigated.
