[ARCHIVED] STORM DEBRIS COLLECTION FOR THE CITY OF KINGSLAND

DoDontMixStormDebris

Storm debris curbside collection is now available for Kingsland residents cleaning up after Hurricane Irma. Hurricane Irma debris doesn't require residents to cut or bundle. Properly separate debris curbside to expedite cleanup. The city advises to not place debris near or on trees, poles, or other structures because it makes removal difficult. This includes fire hydrants and meters. If you don't have a sidewalk, ditch or utility line in front of your house, place debris at the edge of your property before the curb.

In order to ensure that the storm debris is collected as quickly and efficiently as possible, please separate storm debris into these categories:

Household garbage
Perishable items, such as food and normal household waste, will be collected by regular curbside garbage collection. This type of garbage will have priority service, however, in some locations service may be interrupted due to road closures. Curbside garbage collection resumed in Kingsland on Wednesday, September, 13, 2017. The regular curbside garbage collection for the week of September 11 - 15, 2017 will be as follows:

  • Pickup on Wednesday 9/13/2017 will be for the regular Monday/Wednesday schedule.
  • Pickup on Thursday 9/14/2017 will be the Tuesday/Thursday schedule.
  • Pickup on Friday 9/15/2017 will resume the regular schedule.

Regular curbside garbage collection schedule will resume on Monday, September 18, 2017.

Yard debris
All yard waste must be placed curbside on the right of way. Palm fronds and limbs should be stacked, if possible. Tree limbs must be smaller than 4 feet long and 12 inches across or 60 pounds.

Construction debris bulk items
Storm damaged bulk items, such as large furniture and materials relating to building construction, may be collected and must be separated from yard debris. These items must be placed curbside on the right of way.
