For continued public advisories and updates, please continue to monitor official Camden County website, the official Facebook pages for Camden County Government and Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA). Additionally, you may contact the official Hurricane Irma Information Hotline 1-866-868-4351. All residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for CodeRED to receive emergency notifications at www.camdencountyga.gov/482/Code-RED


FEMA: CAMDEN COUNTY ELIGIBLE FOR FEMA ASSISTANCE

Camden County is now part of a federally declared disaster and residents may be eligible for assistance. Visit DisasterAssistance.gov to begin applying for FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency Individual Assistance. The online registration process will take 18-20 minutes. Please note that the FEMA Code for Georgia Hurricane Irma is DR-4338.

DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER OPENS IN CAMDEN COUNTY

FEMA has opened a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at the Camden County Public Service Authority (PSA) Recreation Center.  This center offers in-person support to individuals and businesses. Recovery specialists from FEMA, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the State of Georgia, and other agencies will be at the center to discuss assistance and to help anyone who needs guidance in filing an application.

ALL OF GEORGIA NOW ELIGIBLE FOR IRS DISASTER TAX RELIEF

Hurricane Irma victims in the entire state of Georgia now have until Jan. 31, 2018, to file certain individual and business tax returns and make certain tax payments. For taxpayers in Georgia, this relief postpones various tax filing and payment deadlines that occurred starting on Sept. 7, 2017. As a result, affected individuals and businesses will have until Jan. 31, 2018, to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due during this period. SBA BUSINESS RECOVERY CENTER

Similar to a disaster recovery center, the Business Recovery Center provides local businesses the opportunity to get one on one assistance completing SBA disaster loan applications and enables them to have questions answered regarding the status of their applications. On Sept 27, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced the opening of a Business Recovery Center (BRC) in Glynn County to help all regional businesses impacted by Hurricane Irma that began on Sept. 7, 2017. This is in addition to the previously announced BRC opening Tuesday in Chatham County. SBA representatives at the Centers can provide information about disaster loans, answer questions and assist businesses in completing the SBA application.
