The City of Kingsland is soliciting proposals to qualified construction contractors for replacement of copper piping with PVC at Kingsland Fire Station #3 located at 595 East King Avenue, Kingsland, Georgia. Specifications for this project are included in the Request for Proposal. It is important for the City to be able to procure bid proposals from qualified contractors who have the integrity and reliability that will assure good faith performance.

The City of Kingsland reserves the right to reject any or all submissions, or any part of any submission, to waive any informality in any submission and to award a contract deemed to be the best interest of the City of Kingsland.
All copper piping at this location will be replaced using PVC for cold water and CPVC for all hot water lines.

• All piping will be replaced with same size lines unless approved by Public Works.

• All under slab pipes will be replaced with lines run over head.

• All angle stop, shut off valves and hose bibs will be replaced when new pipe is installed.

• Piping to water heaters will include new pressure tanks installed as per building codes.

• Any piping run in non-climate controlled areas truck bays…will be insulated.

• All piping will be supported by hangers or straps as required.

• Supply lines to toilet and urinal flush valves will have brass nipples going back into the walls.

• Tiled walls will not be cut unless no other access to the piping is available.

This project is to include a line item to patch all walls after piping has been completed. Sheetrock walls will be patched and sanded. Any tile removed must be replaced, grouted, and penetration through exterior walls will be sealed. Penetrations through bay walls into living and office areas will be sealed using fire caulking.

City of Kingsland will paint all areas after the contract is completed.
